Still learning, still building
Jagpreet Singh
I build AI systems, mostly to find out how they work.
How does this actually work?

I've been curious about computers for as long as I can remember — not the using part, the underneath part. Something works, and the first thing I want to know is why.
That question is most of why I chose Computer Science, and why I learn by building rather than by reading about building. Every project here started as something I couldn't do yet.
Second year, three systems built end to end, and a much longer list of things I still want to take apart.

“Someone actually built this.”
That reaction — realising a person made the thing in front of you — is what I'm chasing. Not to be remembered, just to build something worth remembering.
A detour, and everything after
Including the year most people leave off a timeline.

New Green Field School
Through 2024Finished school on the PCM track. Physics and maths left me with one useful habit: look for the mechanism, not just the answer.

Entrance prep
2024Long days, a narrow target, and a very specific definition of what counted as progress.

A year off
2024 — 2025The part of a timeline most people leave out, and the part I'd keep if I could only keep one. It taught me to sit with not knowing how something turns out. I came out of it with a line I still use on the harder days: it's possible, and it'll be alright.

2025 — presentComputer Science and Engineering at SRM KTR. First real room to build things nobody assigned me.

The itch to build
NowSomewhere here it stopped being coursework. If something looks out of reach, I want to try building it and find out where I break — that's the part I can't leave alone.

What's next
Something big enough that I'm not sure I can pull it off yet.
